Off-the-peg
courses
We have three ready-prepared training courses for education staff
that develop their capacity to deliver drug education:
- Special
needs and drug education: A one-day course for teachers of pupils
with special needs, and for learning assistants, to help them
apply aspects of the drug education curriculum in their teaching.
The curriculum follows the ideas set out in our publication, Special
Needs and Drug Education, and each participant will be provided
with a copy of this book to take away with them. With this, they
will immediately be able to implement quality drug education with
their pupils
-
Drug education in the primary school curriculum: A one-day course
showing teachers the opportunities for drug education across the
primary curriculum (and particularly within PSHE & C and Science),
and giving them the tools to deliver appropriate drug education
lessons. Each participant will be provided with a copy of Drug
Education in PSHE & C and across the primary curriculum, which
contains a wealth of activities and ideas.
- Updating,
improving, and monitoring and evaluating your drug policy: Most
primary schools have a drug education policy in place, but the
quality of many of these policies is poor, and they have been
prepared without consultation with key stakeholders and with little
attention to the need for monitoring and evaluation. This one-day
course, for primary school drug education co-ordinators, will
show them how to develop their drug policies to meet Government
and Ofsted requirements, as set out in Circular 4/95 and other
official documents.

Bespoke
courses
We can work with you to develop individual, one-off courses appropriate
to your needs. We have a number of Associates who possess a range
of skills in areas such as developing learning resources and working
with minority ethnic groups.
Training
Needs Analyses
We can carry out Training Needs Analyses to identify the learning
needs of a range of target groups. Our reports combine thorough
investigation and incisive analysis with actionable recommendations.
Training
associated with other activities
Training is integral to the work that we do in other areas. For
example, when we build a website, we provide training to the clients
in how to update the site, how to collate site statistics and so
on. And when we have conducted Young People's Needs Analyses for
DATs, we have identified staff training needs and suggested how
the needs might be met.
educari
